Jack Sheely deals with an art of rediscovering the contradictions and mystery of life which rational thought obscures, as well as redeeming pain, conflict and trauma. This most recently has involved recovering meaning hidden, ignored, or lost in a technology driven society. Exploring the found photograph, his works often combine paint, silkscreened images, fabric, and found objects. A Dallas-based artist, Sheely’s art has appeared in numerous exhibitions in the UTD visual art gallery, as well as throughout the DFW area.
